Hi my name is Marcos Cucul a native of Belize from the ketchi (quiche) tribe.

Because of severe oppression to the indigenous Que chi and Mopan Maya people in Guatemala at the end of the 17th century, my ancestors emigrated from Guatemala to resettle in the south of Belize.

I have worked 3 years for the British Army in Belize, as a jungle survival guide, and 12 years as a specialized adventure caving, kayaking, and mountaineering jungle guide.

My credentials include:

Certified

  • Licensed Tour Guide by the Belize Tourism Board
  • Cave and Wilderness Rescue (level 1 and 2)
  • Swift/Flood Water Rescue.
  • Wilderness First Responder.
  • Remote duty Medic.
  • Member of the: Belize Disaster and Rescue Response Team (B.D.A.R.R.T)
  • Member of: Xibalba Mapping and Exploration Team (X.M.E.T)
  • Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Belmopan fire and rescue service.

These courses meet or exceed all certification Requirements and Recommendation of the University Of Nebraska School Of Medicine Global Medical Rescue Service L.T.D, the National Association for Search and Rescue, the Wilderness Medical Society and the Belize Institute for Tropical and Wilderness Medicine Search and Rescue.

Courses complies with all requirements of the Belize Institute for Tropical and Wilderness Medicine, the Belize Disaster and Rescue Response Team.(BDARRT)and Global Medical Rescue Service L.T.D and the National Emergency Organization.(NEMO).
